Following his enormous A.W.A.Y Festival shutdown in the city, the City of Atlanta declared November 18 to be Davido’s Day.
On Saturday, November 18, 2023, Davido will conduct a second iteration of his “Are We African Yet?” Festival (#A.W.A.YFestival) at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena.

Remember that when his son Ifeanyi Adeleke passed away in 2022, Davido called off the festival?
Top Afrobeats musicians like Adekunle Gold, Mayorkun, Musa Keys, Spinall, Victony, King Promise, Lo Jay, E Cool, and TXC gave energizing performances at the 2023 edition, which was hosted by Nigerian comedian Bovi.
Davido made a surprise announcement at the close of the show about his April 17, 2024, Madison Square Garden show in New York City.
The Atlanta City Council and Mayor Andre Dickens proclaimed November 18 to be “Davido Day” in his honor due to the high attendance at the A.W.A.Y Festival.
On November 21, 2023, Davido’s birthday, the Mayor wrote to him expressing how he has “captivated audiences worldwide, becoming a global icon in the music industry.”
On behalf of the City of Atlanta, thank you for your tireless efforts as a renowned singer, songwriter, producer, business leader, philanthropist, and community advocate. Throughout your remarkable career, you’ve amassed an incredible number of accolades and continue to use your platform to give back to communities in the United States and throughout Africa.

The goal of the one-day A.W.A.Y. Festival is to encourage cultural exchange and cooperation between Africa and the rest of the globe.
Davido was given a special day by the Fulton Council Board of Commissioners in honor of him. The board declared November 21 to be “Davido Appreciation Day” in Fulton County, Georgia’s City.
Be it resolved, That the Fulton County Board of Commissioners recognizes David for his contributions to the music and entertainment industry, and does hereby proclaim Tuesday, November 21, 2023 ‘Davido Appreciation Day’ in Fulton County, Georgia.
