After beating the New York Jets 16-12 at the Allegiant Stadium, Pierce told the Raiders locker room how proud he was of his players for coming together and executing what they’ve been practising.
Josh Jacobs then took the floor and added: “I’m proud of you boys. We don’t f***ing blink, man. You boys keep coming in here and putting in that work then we’re going to get everything we want.
“It’s right in front of us, so let’s get it.”It’s the Dolphins next and fans can hardly wait.
Another wrote: “AP represents every passionate blue collar Raider fan … it’s like Raider nation is the coach now,” while a third added: “Raider Nation has deserved this type of energy for so long.”
A fourth wrote one that McDaniels may not appreciate. “I used to cringe watching McDaniels’ speeches. Was always awkward and trying too hard. Some people are just born leaders and the whole things comes naturally. … looks like someone the franchise can build with. RAIDER4LIFE.”
Another reinvigorated fan said: “I wonder what McDaniels is thinking seeing us get back to back wins.
Coach AP is a breath of fresh air,” came a simple reply.
“Leadership and goals ..this is becoming the team it wasn’t for a year and a half,” said another.
While one exclaimed: “This energy is what we’ve been needing.”
Speaking to the media afterwards, players talked up the bold play calling from Pierce.
“It’s aggressive; there’s a sense where there’s just no fear and you have to play the game in order to win,” Aidan O’Connell said. “You don’t try to just keep from losing. And I think – I loved the call from Bo [Hardegree, interim offensive coordinator].
