Naira Marley and Sam Larry released with N20 Million for damages

The Lagos State Police Command on Friday released controversial singers Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, and Balogun Samson, well known as Sam Larry, after they complied with their bail terms.

This was disclosed on Friday by state police public relations officer Benjamin Hundeyin in a succinct statement that said,

Naira Marley and Sammy Larry, having met their bail conditions, have been released.

He said on statement.

With N20 million in bond and three responsible sureties, the magistrate authorized the pair’s release on Monday, November 6.

As part of the bail conditions, the defendants are to surrender their passports and make weekly appearances at the State Criminal Investigation Department.

The Court Ruled.

Following their prolonged incarceration in connection with the passing of musician Mohbad, real name Ilerioluwa Aloba, the two filed a complaint under the fundamental rights to contest their detention. Along with Lagos magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun, who imposed a 21-day remand on the police, the police were named as defendants in the complaint that was submitted to the Federal High Court in Lagos.

A lawsuit for N20 million in damages was brought against the defendants by Sam Larry and Naira Marley.
