Ricky Pearsall announcement that his leaving Niners team today another significant issue for the team..

The San Francisco 49ers picked Florida wide receiver Ricky Pearsall with the No. 31 overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft. Pearsall spent two seasons at Arizona and two more seasons with the Florida Gators, where he amassed 1,626 receiving yards, caught nine touchdown passes and rushed for three more scores. Here’s everything you need to know about Pearsall.

Pearsall is a slot receiver with elite hands and route running ability. He is also versatile enough to play on the outside and fast enough to beat opposing cornerbacks downfield. He made big plays running the ball on jet sweeps (3 TD runs in 2023) and returned punts during his senior year. As a leader, Pearsall helped mentor younger Florida receivers Eugene Wilson III and Kahleil Jackson throughout the 2023 season. He is a high football IQ player who studies film to find ways to get open against one-on-one coverage and zone defenses.

Against Charlotte on Sept. 23, Pearsall made a leaping one-handed stab on a throw over his head and cradled it before it hit the ground, a catch considered as one of the best in college football during the 2023 season. In addition, Pearsall had three 100-yard receiving games during the 2023 season, including catching 10 passes for 166 yards and 1 TD during Florida’s 41-39 comeback win over South Carolina.
