She talked about her unusual method of making music in the interview, revealing that she frequently plays beats and freestyles until she comes up with something that is firmly based in her sentiments and emotions at the moment.

Tems talked candidly about her experience and said that her mother had always been there for her. She earned a degree in Economics, but her dream had always been to become a musician.

Given that she didn’t have many close friends when she was growing up, Tems described how music evolved into her preferred means of expressing her emotions.

She talked about her childhood ambition to perform in bars as a jazz vocalist. She emphasized her strong resolve to follow her talents and career despite her appearing restrained attitude.

Tems has won multiple awards during her career, including Soul Train Music Awards, BET Awards, NAACP Image Awards, and Grammy Awards.

Her composition, Lift Me Up, co-wrote by Rihanna, was nominated for a Golden Globe and an Academy Award. She is also a gifted songwriter. In the 2021 track “Found,” which she co-wrote with Brent Faiyaz, Tems acknowledged her favorite collaborative effort.

Renowned Nigerian singer and composer Tems was born on June 11th, 1993 as Temilade Openiyi. The release of her single Try Me in 2019 marked her breakthrough.

Her career, however, took off once she was included on Wizkid’s 2020 hit Essence, which was nominated for a Grammy Award. She and Drake worked together on Fountains that same year.
